Second-Class Levers
These levers increase force, but do not change the direction of the input force. With a second-class lever, the load is located between the input and the force. A second-class lever does not change the direction of force. When the fulcrum is located closer to the load than to the effort force, an increase in force (mechanical advantage) results. Examples include doors, nutcrackers, and bottle openers.
